Xiaoqikong

Xiaoqikong Scenic Area is located in the Libo County, and it has an original scene integrated with mountain, water, forest, cave, lake and waterfall. The scenic area spreads 7 kilometers, and the area is 10 square kilometers. It was listed as national nature reserve in 1988. Xiaoqikong Scenic Area is so called, because there is an arch bridge with seven small holes (Xiaoqikong in Chinese) across through Xiangshui River, which was built in 1835.

There are over one hundred scenic spot in Xiaoqikong Scenic Area.

Mandarin Duck Lake

Mandarin Duck Lake with jade green lake water is a wonderful spot in Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. It has its name because of two towering trees standing side by side in the center of lake, and tree leafs interlink closely. Female tree is pretty and the male tree is tall and straight, and it is said that it needs two or three people to hug.

Heaven Bell Cave

It is a karst cave situated on the hillside of Tangba Stone Forest. It is 700 meters long and has a tall hall. Most of stalactites in the cave resemble multi-shaped animals, such as crocodile, golden pheasant and rhinoceros and so on. There is a stalactite like a bronze bell standing upside down the ground, and it is covered by small stalactites, which looks like tadpole character and is hard to read, so the bell is called “Heaven Bell”.

“Wild Boar Forest”

“Wild Boar Forest” is a typical karst funnel-shaped forest. The whole funnel is like a green vortices floating on the forest sea. There is a large area of green bamboo growing widely at the bottom of the funnel. All trees here are covered by cotton-like usnea, when looking afar which is like the sarage covered in fluff. In olden days, wild boars run through the forest and make the bamboo as their food, so it is called as “Wild Boar Forest”.

Guibei Mountain Original Forest

There grows countless wild monstera deliciosa all over the mountain. There are three features in this forest: one is an ancient rattans in the forest intertwining like hand-made hemp rope; another one is a bulky tree root extending along ten miles like a moving python; the third one is that a huge stone hanging in the air, and it is startling most is that there is a over ten-mile tree standing on that.

Forest in the water

It is about 600 meters long and has two parts up and down. There are dense arbor and shrub, which form a green barrier. Clear water flow down from high year in and year out and there is no sediment in riverbed, but trees still take a root in the riverbed motionlessly, so it is amazing.

Sixty-eight-step Pouring Waterfall

Sixty-eight-step Pouring Waterfall is in the upper stream of Hanbi Pool. Waterfall pouring down through overlapping rocks and the sound of water can be heard several miles away, which forms a dynamic water scene.

Ecology Corridor

Ecology Corridor is 3.5 km long. Along the Lying Dragon River, there is beautiful karst original vegetation in both shores, sometimes, with island emerging in the silent river, which is like exquisite miniature tree.

Bronze Drum Bridge

There is a Bronze Drum Bridge crossing through Zhangjiang River, which was built in 1993. It is 126 meters in length，25 meters in height ,and the span is 60 meters. Both side of bridge is designed with a style of Yaoshan bronze drum, so the bridge is called as Bronze Drum Bridge. Bronze drum is recognized as the symbol of power for Yao Nationality.

Yao village

The houses in Yao village are attics built in the high, about one or two meters above the ground. There are Yao people like Liangpian Yao and Baiku Yao, and they can be distinguished easily from women’ clothes. The Liangpian Yao‘s coat is made of front and back pieces, and only connected on the shoulders and waist. The Baiku Yao is famous for its white trousers. Barn is a representation of building in Yao village. The barn is cylinder-shaped and has a conic roof. The barn is supported by four wooden pillars and it is two meters above the ground. This design can make the grain in the barn to avoid rat, damp and being moldy.

If you were lucky, you could see a bloody cattle-slaughtering scene on the spot.
