Shiban Street is featured for its ancient buildings in Ming Dynasty, and local performances attract tourists at home and abroad.
Shiban Street is located in the Guanghui Road of Duyun City, the south of Guizhou. It was first built in the reign of the Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang (1368-1396), with its length of 312 meters. The pavement is paved by 11,000 bluestones, and the buildings in two sides of street are all classical style with green tiles, red walls and carved doors and windows. There are two pairs of stone lions in both ends of the street. The ancient style gate is built in the south end. This street is the only way in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) from Guizhou to Guangxi province.
Features in Shiban Street
There always have some folk activities held in Shiban Street, like the weddings of Bouyei nationality, local instrument performances and singing in antiphonal style etc. In recent years, it has attracted lots of foreign tourist groups and media to visit.
Artifacts
There are a few of stores to sell artifacts of ethnic nationalities, such as cloth deep basket, bag, silverware, and tie dyeing and so on.
