Tianhe Pool

Tianhe Pool is a scenic area opened in 1992. It is located in northwest of Huaxi District, 24 km from Guiyang city. The area of Tianhe Pool is 15 square kilometers. It is typical of Karst landform.

The whole scenic area is divided into four parts: calcification waterfall visiting, Xiangba Gou water culture, boating in water cave and drought cave visiting.

Calcification waterfall

Entering the scenic area, a 210-meter-wide calcification waterfall is in front of you, it is the widest calcification waterfall in China. With waterfall pouring down overwhelmingly and splashing over the river surface, it is very spectacular. Grotesque limestone Cave is a big feature here. Lying Dragon Lake is links to calcification waterfall, a long stone bridges emerging in the pure water resembling a Lying Dragon, and with green willow and pink peach blossom ashore, like an imaginary ideal world.

Water culture

Following the Calcification waterfall is a river named Xiangba Gou. Water in Tianhe Pool is used sufficiently, which forms a distinctive water culture, such as Waterwheel, water-powered roller, and watermill etc.

Water cave and drought cave

Dragon Pool Cave in Tianhe Pool scenic area is composed of water cave and drought cave. Visiting the water cave by boat, you would feel like in the heaven. The water cave is about 1,200 meters long, the widest part of 80 meters, the narrowest part of 20 meters, and the deepest part of river is 21 meters. There are stalactites, stalagmites and lacto-stalagmites and so on. There are three layers in drought cave. The cave is 1,800 meters long, and pocked with stalactites in different poses. A natural stone bridge in the cave named Naihe Bridge links to two cliffs on both sides, and under the bridge is the unfathomable pool, and that is really a superb craftsmanship.

Tianhe Pool high-altitude ropeway

Tianhe Pool high-altitude ropeway is 400 meters long, and is fixed on the top of south and north cliffs, which is called as “World’s Ropeway No.1”. Gliding on the ropeway, you are like gliding in the sky. It is a best spot to look down the whole scenic area. After finishing the visit to the water cave and drought cave, tourists can take the ropeway to glide to the parking lot directly.

There also are performances like bamboo dance, join forces dance and robbing bridegroom, which all have traditional features.
