Located in Largo de Monte Carlo 203, Macau Peninsula, close to the Macau Ferry Terminal, Sands Macau is the first American style casino hotel opened in Macau.

Sands Macau, located in Largo de Monte Carlo 203, is a casino resort in Macau Peninsula owned and operated by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. It was built in the offshore garden with an area of about 6 hectares and was surrounded by the green and towering trees. The casino was opened to the public on May 18, 2004 at a cost of 240 million dollars. From then on, Sands Macau became a new gambling place for the tourist traveling in Macau. According to the newspaper, Sands Macau welcomed 25,000 guests on its opening day.

The name ‘Sands’ was derived from the Sands Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, American. In March 2006, Sands Macau was selected as one of the most popular 13 casinos in the world, together with the Lisboa Casino and the Mandarin Oriental Casino.

Facilities

Hotel

Originally, the hotel covers an area of about 15,300 square meters and consists of 51 suites. And after the expansion in 2007, the casino comprises 289 suites with an area of about 21,300 square meters. The deluxe suite is 60 square meters in size with adjacent living room, dinning room and bedroom. The executive suite is 120 square meters in size with a living room and a dinning room.

Casino

The casino covers an area about 21,300 square meters and comprises of about more than one thousand slot machines and 740 gaming tables. Except the central part in the first floor, there are also equipped with the Pearl Room, the Paiza Club, the Level of Fortune and the Treasure Level. With the largest number of gambling tables, Sands Macau used to be the largest entertainment area before it was affected by the financial tsunami in 2008.

Banquets and Convention Hall

The banquet hall covers an area of about 987 square meters and can be divided in to three sections and a multifunctional convention hall. Many unique and extraordinary themed events are organized and held in the hotel, such as the concert of Air Supply in October, 2007.

Xanadu Entertainment Bar

Located in the first floor of the entertainment area, Xanadu Entertainment Bar is well equipped with a stage that can cater to the different needs of the live shows. What’s more, the electronic projection screen and the several large plasma screen TV provide the sports event and the visual entertainment to the gambling clients.

Apart from the casino, suites and bars, many restaurants featuring both regional and international cuisines and swimming pools and beauty center are provided for the guest to have a pleasant experience here.
