Reputed as the "First Cave of Asia", Fengyu Cave is a typical Karst cave composed of cave and underground river. The intensive stalagmites, the serene underground river and the vast caves endow it a world wonder.

Fengyu Cave is located in Sanhe Town area, passing through nine karst peaks, 16 kilometers from Lipu County which is about 110 kilometers away from Guilin City. There are abundant fish which is called You Feng Yu in the underground river, hence the name Fengyu Cave. The interior of the cave includes a series chambers with different size, among which the largest one is over 25,500 kilometers. There is an underground river with the length of 2.3 kilometers which is available to undertake boats for tourism.

Super Huge Cave

The cave has a whole length of 5.3 kilometers and a underground river course of 3.7 km long. The inner cave passage is usually 7-20 m wide and 5-15 m high, with many large chambers and 10 branches. The biggest chamber is more than 25,500 square meters, with a cave height of 36 m. It belongs to the super huge cave taken shape during the late Teriary period. With the stable temperature of 18 to 22 centigrade, it is good to human health.

Fengyu Cave is divided into cave and underground river. With the length of 2.2 kilometers, there are various stalagmites, stalactites and curtains, forming many marvelous views, among which a 9.8 meters long so called Iron Rod can be rated as the treasure of the cave.

Uncomparable Features

With the total tourism distance of 7.1 kilometers, Fengyu Cave owns four characteristics that other caves are unable to surpass.

With the combination of three kinds of transportation tools, the tourists are able to have a complete view of the cave. 2 kilometers land sightseeing, 3.3 kilometers cruise along the underground river and 1.8 kilometers skyrail cableway serve tourists a newly conception of Fengyu Cave.

The Marvelous Needle

With a lot of stalagmites in the cave, it attracts many tourists for each stalamite shows different features. Among them there is one named Dinghaishenzhen (marvelous needle) is 9.8 meters high but only about 15 centimeters in diameter. The colorful slender stalagmite forests make the cave very fascinating.

Situated in the village of Yao Minority, it provides tourists a chance to enjoy the folk customs.

How to get there

From Guilin: take long-distance bus heading for Lipu (CNY15/person, 2hours), then catch the minibus to Fengyu Cave (CNY5/person, 40minutes).

From Yangshuo: take shuttlebus to Lipu first in theYangshuo Bus Station (CNY5/person).
