As the first aquarium in the city, Blue Zoo Beijing specializing in marine life has Asia's longest underwater walk through tunnel where you can enjoy underwater surroundings and over 6000 species of marine creatures.

Blue Zoo Beijing, also called Beijing Gongti Richina Underwater World, is near the South Gate of Workers' Stadium in Beijing. With an area of 7,800 sq. meters, it has 20 exhibition tanks and is home to over 6000 species of marine creatures such as sharks, eels, piranhas and even endangered species. Blue Zoo Beijing is the first five-star ocean aquarium in Beijing, featuring a 120m walk through tunnel, the longest of its kind in Asia.

On weekends, the zoo offer mini-courses on marine life and big kids can enjoy a romantic under-the-sea dinner in the tunnel. There are also many performances like Mermaid show and Water ballet as well as thrilling Dance with Sharks.

Visiting Guide

All the tanks have a complete eco-system with the year round water temperature of 23°C to 26°C (73.4°F to 78.8 °F) to allow thousands of fish to live in as natural an environment as possible. The 22 different tanks hold specifically themed displays such as Amazon fresh water fish tank, seahorse tank, coral reef tank and so on. There are over 6000 creatures including sharks, rays, eels, coral reef fish, lobsters, sea horses, starfish and many others.

The highlight of the aquarium is a 120-meter-long underwater tunnel, the longest one of its kind in Asia. This tunnel allows visitors to observe the underwater world in a panoramic view like a diver. On weekends, big kids can enjoy a romantic under-the-sea dinner in the tunnel.

The aquarium also has exhibition about south polar expedition which enables the visitors to understand the landscape of polar continent as well as the interesting animals at there. . Besides, the aquarium also boasts an education center which is open all year round, displaying knowledge of marine creatures and life.
