The city has two main highways that extend northeastward to cover the peninsular. One is the Shenyang-Dalian Speedway and the other is the Yellow Sea Speedway. This makes the connections between Dalian and the other four major cities, namely Shenyang, Liaoyang, Dandong, Qinhuangdao, very convenient. The railway station is centrally located in the bustling commercial center near Qingniwaqiao in the downtown area.

Dalian has a sound public bus network. Sightseeing buses depart from the railway stations stopping at almost all the major tourist sights. The sightseeing bus is very useful, and most of the sightseeing buses have no number. They always stop in the first row of buses to the right outside the railway station.

 

 

As the terminus of the Harbin-Dalian Railway, Dalian is well connected with the networks of the northern and eastern parts of China. Trains from the city can reach all cities in northeastern China and Beijing, Shanghai and Hankou. The railway station is centrally located in the bustling commercial center near Qingniwaqiao in the downtown area.

Compared with going by air and land, travel by ship is more convenient and charming. As a northern Chinese port, and the third largest port in China, Dalian has a well developed water transport network. The Passenger Port is located at the northern end of Wuwu Lu in the eastern end of the Liaodong Peninsular. From Dalian Port, tourists can go to Tianjin, Qinhuangdao, Yantai, Penglai, Weihai, etc.
