Dali Weather

Dali has a mild subtropical highland climate and there is neither excessive heat in summer or intolerable cold in winter. Famous as the ‘Oriental Switzerland’, It has a spring-like climate prevails throughout the year and has around 126 days in the year with temperature around 18-21ºC (54-66 ºF). Most rainfall occurs from June to October. The best time to visit is in spring for visiting Dali Ancient City, climbing Mt. Cangshan or touring Lake Erhai.

Four Seasons in Dali
Spring - Most  of  the  Bai  minority’s  festivals  fall  in  March  and  April  when  you  can  enjoy  both  the  beautiful  natural  landscape  and  the  deep  ethnic  flavors.
Summer - There  is  no  hot  summer  in  Dali.  Tourists  can  enjoy  their  comfortable  trips.
Fall - Around  the  National  Day  Holiday,  the  temperature  falls  dramatically,  especially  if  it  rains.  Soon,  the  autumn  comes.  Warmer  clothing  like  sweater  and  jackets  is  required  during  this  period.
Winter - There  may  be  strong  winds.  Over  10  days  in  December,  January  and  February  with  wind  above  force  8.  ‘Xiaguan  Wind’  is  an  unusual  experience  in  Dali.
Best Time to Visit

A  spring-like  climate  prevails  throughout  the  year.  Hence  Dali  is  suitable  to  visit  all  the  year  round.
