Western Qing Tomb is a tomb for Emperors in Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and owns many ancient buildings, which is listed into the National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
Covering an area of 800 square meters, Western Qing Tomb is located in Yixian County of Baoding City in Hebei Province and is about 120 kilometers away from Beijing. Here has the biggest pine forest in North China, which decorates this area in green. Western Qing Tomb lies along the Yishui River and the Yongning Mountain. This tomb firstly was built in 1730.
History
Western Qing Tomb was first built in 1730 and was regarded as tomb site. And still in 1730, Tai Tomb for Yongzheng Emperor was built. In 1915, Chang Tomb for Guangxu Emperor was built. During 186 years, 4 mausoleums had been built for emperors-Yongzheng, Jiaqing, Daoguang, Guangxu. Besides, several tombs were built for concubines, princesses and other princes. In 2000, Western Qing Tomb was listed as World Cultural Heritage.

Tai Tomb
Tai Tomb for Yongzheng Emperor is in the central position, which is the first and the largest one in Western Qing Tomb. The other tombs lie in the west and east sides. The Sacred Way of Tai Tomb is covered by huge bricks with green pines and verdant cypresses on both sides. From south to north, more than 40 small and big buildings stand nearby. Entering the Tai Tomb, the first building you can see is a arch five-hole bridge on whose northern side are three tall stone tablets carved with hills, water, flowers, animals and other graphics beautiful and vivid. These three stone tablets are regarded as the representatives of the art works.
Chang Tomb
Chang Tomb is a place for Jiaqing and his empress. Chang Tomb lies 2 kilometers away in the west of Tailing. It is the only tomb connected with main tomb Tai Tomb by a Shinto. The architectural form and layout is almost familiar with Tailing. The pillars in Longeng Hall are carved with golden dragons and the floors are covered with precious piebald stones and plasters, which are like jewels and are distinctive.
Western Chang Tomb
Western Chang Tomb buried the second empress who is the longest one as empress in Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) of Jiaqing Emperor. And it had been built during 1851-1853. The architectural form is similar to Mu Tomb for Daoguang Emperor with a style of elegance. The buildings within the Longsi Gate are higher and higher from the front to the back. The seventh stone is an echoing stone. Standing on it, you can hear the loud echo no matter how loud the sound is. The walls around the pavilion are echo walls. If two people stand in the west and east of the walls facing the walls to whisper, the sounds of them like a phone call, which is an amazing feat.
