History
Pala family has a history of 400 years. According to the textual research, the ancestor of Pala family was a Lama in Pula Kham Temple to manage Bhutan. Later on, he became a leader of a tribe in Bhutan. Due to the internal strife in Bhutan, he as well as his people moved to Tibet. Because of leading more than five hundred to go back to Tibet, the Gyangtze was rewarded as salaries. Basing on the progressive development, Pala family entered the Tibet noble ranks. By the end of the nineteenth century, Pala family had become one of the twelve great lords in Tibet. In 1904, the British invasion destroyed the original main manor. In 1937, Pala Manor was rebuilt on the other side of Nianchu River which is the current place where Pala Manor lies in.
