Something about "Xinglong"
Xinglong, located on Hainan's eastern coast, famous for its natural hot spring, tropical agriculture, rubber, coffee, pepper, and so on. Xinglong is the largest coffee production destination of China. It is the biggest agricultural base ran by overseas Chinese from South East Asia who moved to Xinglong in 1952 due to the bad relationship between Chinese and South East Asia courtiers including Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philippines, etc.
Honors it has
It really deserves the name of "tropical plants encyclopedia" with more than 1200 kinds of plans growing inside. It is one of the four national eco-environment exemplary education centers and gene pools of species in China, and was recommended by the Chinese government as the World's Top 500 Environments to the UNESCO.
What to enjoy here
Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden is famous for the unique tropical plants. Tropical cash crops, trees and garden plants, wild plants, even rare species, and rare tropical plants introduced from abroad can be seen here. Therefore, it is a comprehensive tropical botanic garden with a rich species resource, beautiful environment, and the value to research and study.
In the garden visitors will be impressed by such a variety of tropical plants and enticing views. And it will be a wonderful experience to know what Coco, coffee, peppers and many other plants we may never see them before look like before you have them in your cups. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions on Hainan Island.
How many districts it has
There are five major districts in the garden: Plants Area, Experiment and Demonstration Area, Technology Innovation Area, Stereo Effect Planting Area, and Ecological Leisure Area.
The botanic garden is near the green mountains and surrounded by lakes. So fresh air and ecology will refresh you and make you energetic again. In the botanic garden, visitors can admire the plants, fishing by lakes, do research and promote agricultural education. It aims to provide fun as well as practice for visitors.
Something to suggest
If you visit there, you must try the local coffee and tea, which are provided free of charge in the Garden. And you could buy some back home to your friends. Except the local coffee and tea, you must try the tropical fruit called "mystery fruit". You eat the fruit first, and then when you eat the sour orange or bitter food, the tastes will be getting sweet.
Getting there
Visitors can reach the scenic spot by motorcycle or sightseeing bus. Besides, make sure to return by the same means or it is not easy to find other transport vehicles.
