Xiaoqikong Bridge

The name of Xiaoqikong means "bridge with seven little arches" and this town is a scenic spot. Built in the 15th Daoguang year of the Qing Dynasty, Xiaoqikong Bridge was made by laying chiseled stones, 10 meters long, 2.2 meters wide and 5 meters high. Rested on seven arches, this stone arch bridge lied in the ancient post road from south Guizhou to Guangxi. Here, tourists all take photos to keep the attractive sight and their beautiful images.

What to see

The whole area is enclosed within Maolan kast forest, and here visitors find not the lonely landscape usually seen in other karst areas. What come into view instead are lush green woods, crystal-clear waters and lofty pikes. The unique hydrologic effect of the karst forest has turned out strange landscapes of water maze, water forest and a lot of separated waterfalls.

As a national scenic spot, Xiaoqikong is a combination of peaks, caves, forests, lakes and waterfalls, enjoying a good reputation as "Super Potted Landscape." Mandarin Duck Lake

Tourists like the Mandarin Duck Lake very much. It was produced by a subterranean river flows through Karst billabong. The lake covers 13 hectares and is over 40 meters deep. Twin trees growing at the center of the lake spread their branches toward each other giving the appearance of two Mandarin ducks, hence the lake's name.

Boating on the lake

Tourists can enjoy the charming view when boating in it. With her calm appearance, the lake is clear, quiet and graceful. The water looks extraordinarily blue, decorated with reflections of the green trees around it. Through absorbing, reflecting and refracting the light, the surface of the lake shows uneven and changing colors, some part of it as sapphire, some as lilac and some as black rose, which is so blue that it looks purple and is black of a green tint, like the flowing and bewitching glance from lovers.

Peculiar trees

"Wood above river" is a famous scenic spot, where a group of trees are scattered evenly around the river. Tourists can walk through the wood and watch the waters. In other places, people may catch sight of trees growing on rocks with their roots twinning together in cracks. With forests on the ground and caves under it, people look upon it as a beautiful example of the karst landforms.
