Geyuan Garden is located to the north of the eastern street of Yangzhou City. The Geyuan Garden is the private residential garden in Yangzhou classic gardens with the longest history, the most complete preservation and the highest artistic value.

It was reconstructed in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty on the base of a private garden named "Shouzhi Garden." Bamboos can be seen everywhere in the Garden. As the bamboo leaf resembles the Chinese character "Ge", it is named "Geyuan Garden."

The Geyuan Garden, which is well known for its bamboo and four-season rockery, is the best. Meanwhile, it is also one of the top 10 well-known gardens in China. The pavilions, attics, rockeries, stones, bamboos, woods, flowers and water are all matched properly. From the windshield, the whole Geyuan Garden is decorated into four sceneries - spring, summer, autumn, winter from south to north. Going through a path smothered with bamboos, you'll find the well-known four-season rockery. It's like a picture which has attracted visitors.

    With an annual average temperature ranging from 13C to 16C, the climate in Jiangsu is semi-humid and subtropical. There are four distinct seasons with cold winters and hot summers. Besides, the annual average rainfall is 800 to 1,200 millimeters (31.5 to 47.2 inches), with high precipitation in the southeast and low in the northwest, and 60 percent of the rain falls during the summer.

    So the best time for a visit should be in spring and autumn.
